Sample Defects
Improper Splices
Many "do-it-yourself" remodel experts will leave open junction boxes or improper splices in attics and crawl spaces. Although a problem such as this, found in an attic by JTR Home Inspections, can be a simple repair to a qualified electrician, gone undetected and unrepaired could lead to a serious electrical fire.
Termite Damage
A simple visual inspection of a wall, may not reveal the hidden termite damage of the wood behind. JTR Home Inspections uses the latest in technical equipment to help detect what is behind the wall that "visually" looks good, such as this termite damaged support found by our inspector.
Weathered Roofing
From the ground, it is hard to see the edges curling on these shingles. This is "one" sign of a weathered roof that JTR Home Inspections can detect "before" you buy or sell your house.
Unvented Bathroom Exhaust
It is always nice to see an updated bathroom with an overhead exhaust fan when looking at a home. However, if that exhaust fan isn't properly vented, like this one found by JTR Home Inspections, it can be causing more harm than good by sending excessive moisture into the attic.
